Dresden dahlias
I had small scraps of fabrics from the Antique Fair collection by Moda, left after making a circles on squares wall hanging project - too beatiful to throw it away. Just enough to make flowers using the " Dresden plates" technique.
A tutorial from the Missouri Star Quilt Co. have encouraged me to make this wall hanging. I had no special Dresden plate ruler, so I had to correct the flowers after piecing: add or subtract some petals, but when they are small it's not a problem.
This wall hanging is 31 x 37 inches. Elements other than petals are made from fabrics from other collections (including woodcutter one), but all match perfectly well.
Appliques are made by hand, as well as quilting - with two colors of thread: a dark one around and on the appliques, and a light one on the background.
