Sail away
This blanket was
done using a free quilt pattern Sail Away published
on the is stated on the Riley Blake fabrics website. I changed a little bit as
usual by enlarging
the blocks to use all the fabrics I had.
I
bought five "fat
quarters" from Fly Aweigh collection by Riley
Blake: 2 FQ
for ships,1 FQ for a sea and 2 FQ for a border.
Plus a solid fabric
for the background. Blanket’s dimentions are: 42 per 50 inches.
Every block with the ship consists of several parts : sails -
squares composed of two triangles
(made from two large squares), the hull - a rectangle with corners and three rectangles for a background and the sea.
The
batting is 100% cotton from the of Hobbs Heirloom
Company (thinner than
the one used previously from Quilters Dream Batting , but also soft). This
time I machine quilted it.
