Winter butterflies

Another girl quilt,  this  time in brown - turquoise - beige colours. And a lots of butterflies: on fabrics and applique. Natural and more abstract.

Applique butterflies are hand stiched. Those on the bottom part of the quilt are like shadows, and the upper ones are even more incorporeal  - just a contour. 

 

This quilt is made from rectangles only - I wanted the fabrics to be balanced. And it's a very good background for applique - doesn't prevail on it.  The binding is the same as applique - brown solid. And back of the quilt is brown with abstract butterflies as well. Its hand quilted in the inner side of rectangulars.
