Star from hourglass

I have discovered a very fast method for making quilt blocks " disappearing hourglass." Very easy one and giving a surprising final result. I used this method to make a baby blanket 36 x 48 inches.

It's called "disappearing hourglass" because the starting point is a block of triangles resembling to an hourglass. Four cuts and we have a star which looks as a very complex one to make.

And here's a whole quilt (with soft cotton filling and machnine quilting ):

Here are all stages of work on one block:

selecting fabrics
cutting squares

sewing along edges

cutting
opening squares
sewing an hourglass
cutting

turning

final block
